Differences between carbon steel and stainless steel

   1. Different corrosion resistance

Although iron is present in both carbon steel and stainless steel, and iron is relatively easy to oxidize, the corrosion resistance of welding iron materials is relatively poor. However, in addition to iron, chromium is also added to stainless steel, which can effectively increase the corrosion resistance of the material. Therefore, in comparison, stainless steel has stronger corrosion resistance.

  2. Different ductility

Both carbon steel and stainless steel have a certain degree of ductility, but because stainless steel contains a large amount of nickel element, it can effectively improve the ductility of the product, so the ductility of stainless steel will also be better than that of carbon steel. In addition, for ductility, it refers to the degree to which a material can be compressed. The better the ductility, the thinner the material can be compressed.
