International Marking Method for 304 Stainless Steel Plate and Stainless Steel Drawing Plate

The American Iron and Steel Institute uses three digits to indicate various standard grades of stainless steel wire drawing plates, as shown below

① 200 and 300 series numerical designations for austenitic stainless steel wire drawing plates

② Ferritic and martensitic stainless steel wire drawing plates are represented by 400 series numbers. For example, some common austenitic stainless steel wire drawing plates are marked with 201, 304, 316, and 310

③ Ferritic stainless steel wire drawing plate is marked with 430 and 446, and martensite stainless steel wire drawing plate is marked with 410, 420 and 440C. Dual phase (austenite ferrite)

④ Stainless steel wire drawing plates, precipitation hardened stainless steel wire drawing plates, and high alloys with an iron content of less than 50% are usually named using patent or trademark names.
