Japanese standard seamless steel pipes are made from steel ingots or solid billets that are perforated into tubes, and then hot rolled, cold rolled, or cold drawn. With a hollow cross-section, it is widely used for conveying fluids in pipelines. Compared with solid steel such as round steel, steel pipes have a lighter weight when their bending and torsional strength are the same.
