Testing of mechanical and corrosion properties of nickel based alloy composite plates
The standards that can be used for nickel based alloy composite plates include NB/T47002.2-2009 and ASME SA265. Mechanical performance inspection shall be conducted according to the items listed in the standards and user requirements, such as tensile test, impact test, bending test, shear test, etc. The shear strength specified in NB/T47002.2-2009 is not less than 210MPa, ASME
SA265 stipulates that the shear strength is not less than 140MPa. The practice shows that the shear strength of nickel base alloy composite plates produced by explosion method is generally not less than 300MPa, which is far greater than the standard value. The tensile and impact properties meet the requirements of the substrate, ensuring the required strength and toughness of the composite plate during equipment production and operation, and ensuring the safe operation of the equipment.
The corrosion resistance testing of the composite nickel based alloy layer is an important indicator for the performance testing of composite plates. The commonly used intergranular corrosion test method for nickel based alloys is ASTM G28 (A and B methods), which evaluates the intergranular corrosion tendency of nickel based alloys. The heat treatment after the composite plate is a key process to ensure the corrosion resistance of the composite nickel based alloy.
