The related properties and application fields of C276 Hastelloy alloy
Let's talk about the relevant properties of C276 Hastelloy alloy today.
In fact, C-276 Hastelloy alloy belongs to the nickel molybdenum chromium iron tungsten series nickel based alloy, and is the most corrosion-resistant type of modern metal materials. Mainly resistant to wet chlorine, various oxidizing chlorides, chloride salt solutions, sulfuric acid, and oxidizing salts, it has excellent corrosion resistance in low and medium temperature hydrochloric acid. The mechanical properties of Hastelloy alloy are very outstanding, with high strength and toughness, making it difficult to machine, and its strain hardening tendency is extremely strong. When the deformation rate reaches 15%, it is about twice that of 18-8 stainless steel. Hastelloy alloy also has a medium temperature sensitization zone, and its sensitization tendency increases with the increase of deformation rate. When the temperature is high, Hastelloy alloy is prone to absorbing harmful elements, resulting in a decrease in its mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.
How is its mechanical performance?
The tensile test results of a typical C-276 alloy are shown in the table below. The material is solid solution at 1150 ℃ and quenched with water. The following figure shows the specific performance characteristics:
Cold deformation processing of C-276 alloy will increase its strength. When conducting impact tests on it, the V-groove impact specimen is made of 10mm thick sheet metal (which needs to be annealed). If the specimen is welded, it will show a certain degree of flexibility within the same temperature range, due to the welding seam. The results of the plate impact test are shown below.
What is its corrosion resistance?
Corrosion resistance is definitely related to the components it contains, which are as follows: C ≤ 0.01 Si≤0.08. S≤≤0.001. P≤0.015. Mn≤1.0. Co≤2.50 Cr15.0-16.5 V0.1-0.3 Mo15.0-17.0 Fe:4.0-7.0 W:3.0-4.5。 From the composition, it can be seen that Hastelloy C-276 alloy belongs to the nickel molybdenum chromium iron tungsten series nickel based alloy.
