What are some alloy specifications of the Hastelloy alloy series?

Excellent enterprises in the steel industry, mainly including plate, bar, wire, welding material, pipe, square pipe, square steel, tee, flange, welded pipe, seamless pipe and other specifications.

Let's talk about Hastelloy B alloy first.

Before we talk about Hastelloy B like this, I will tell you a little history of the development of Hastelloy. There were two main grades of early Ni Mo alloys used for corrosion resistance purposes. One type is the Ni Mo Fe alloy 0Mo20Ni60Fe20 (commonly known as Hastelloy A in foreign countries), which contains about 20% Mo and about 20% Fe. Another type is Ni Mo alloy 0Mo28Ni65Fe5, which contains about 30% Mo and about 5% Fe (commonly known as Hastelloy B in foreign countries). Since the 1960s, Ni Mo Fe corrosion-resistant alloys containing about 20% Fe have been rarely purchased and used.

What are the structural characteristics of Hastelloy B alloy?

Hastelloy B alloy is supersaturated solid solution in the solution treated state, and there will be intermetallic phase in the intermediate temperature aging state, such as Ni4Mo( β), Ni3Mo( γ), Carbides such as Mo6C and M ₂ C precipitate on the matrix and along grain boundaries, which can have adverse effects on the properties of this alloy.

How is the corrosion resistance of Hastelloy B alloy?

Hastelloy B alloy is known as 0Mo28Ni65Fe5 alloy in China, abbreviated as Hastelloy B (H-B). Said corrosion resistance. First of all, let's talk about comprehensive corrosion. Hastelloy B alloy has good corrosion resistance under all atmospheric conditions. Hastelloy B alloy has excellent corrosion resistance in natural gas and high-purity water. This alloy has slightly lower overall corrosion resistance than pure nickel, but better resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion than pure nickel.

What is the corrosion resistance of Hastelloy B alloy in acidic media?

There is a lot of content in this aspect, let me first talk about several situations.

Hastelloy B alloy exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in H2SO4, non aerated and non oxidizing sulfuric acid, with a wide range of applicable concentrations and temperatures. For example, in all concentrations of H2SO4 below 100 ℃, the corrosion rate of Hastelloy B alloy is less than 0.125mm/a; ≤ 5mm/a in any concentration of H2SO4 below 115 ℃; In H2SO4 below boiling temperature, the corrosion resistance concentration of Hastelloy B alloy can reach 60%; However high the concentration is, due to the high oxidation of H2SO4 itself, Hastelloy B alloy is subject to severe corrosion. In dilute H2SO4, the corrosion resistance of Hastelly B alloy decreases with the addition of air, and is most pronounced when the H2SO4 concentration is between 5% and 10%.

Adding oxidizing salts and other oxidizing ions to H2SO4 significantly increases the corrosion rate of Hastelloy B alloy, and the higher the temperature, the more severe it becomes. Therefore, Hastelloy B alloy is generally not allowed to be used under these conditions, unless the concentration of oxidizing salts and oxidizing ions is low enough to affect the corrosion resistance of this alloy.

In hydrochloric acid, Hastelloy B alloy is corrosion-resistant at any concentration and temperature under atmospheric pressure in hydrochloric acid that is not filled with air. Ni Mo corrosion-resistant alloys, including Hastelloy B alloy, are the best class of alloys with hydrochloric acid resistance. The corrosion resistance of Hastelloy B alloy is greatly affected by the presence or absence of air in hydrochloric acid. When air is present in the acid, the adverse effect on the corrosiveness of this alloy is most evident when the concentration of hydrochloric acid is between 5% and 10%.

In hydrofluoric acid, experiments have shown that Hastelloy B alloy can withstand corrosion by HF acid at ≤ 100 ℃ without air. However, in hydrofluoric acid with a constant boiling point concentration of 38% to 40% HF and a boiling temperature of 115 ℃, this alloy will be corroded.

In phosphoric acid, Hastelloy B alloy exhibits good H3PO4 resistance, except for slightly reduced corrosion resistance when filled with air and at high temperatures under pressure. However, this alloy is not resistant to wet H3PO4 corrosion
