What is the smoothness of the stainless steel 2b plate?
What is the surface finish of the stainless steel plate? There are many different categories of surface finish for stainless steel plates. Some originated from self grinding machines, but many people apply them in machining processes such as electrolytic polishing, chemical polishing, wire drawing, sandblasting, acid pickling passivation, etching, and color finishing.
It is necessary to determine the surface smoothness of the corrosion resistance of the stainless steel plate surface layer. A rough surface layer can effectively reduce to a lower level, and the corrosion resistance of the stainless steel plate will also be worse.
The European standard defines the most commonly used surface layer finish for stainless steel plates. However, due to the unique nature of many suppliers, it is impossible and complete standardization is possible. This is a simple and most common category for each product in the form of flat products from EN 10088-2 (complete list of common surface layer finishes:
Surface treatment code
1D hot rolling, heat treatment, acid pickling and passivation. The most common hot rolling is completed. Non reflective, with a rough surface layer. Generally not used for decoration.
2B cold rolled, heat treated, stainless steel plate pickled and passivated, with a slightly gray reflective coating. In this case, the process of electrolytic polishing can be used or often used.
2D cold rolling, heat treatment, stainless steel pickling treatment.
2H work hardening rolling can enhance the toughness of the surface layer, with various ranges of EN 10088-2 tensile or 0.2% yield strength up to 1300 MPa
2Q cold rolled quenching and tempering. It is applicable to martensite steels that are subject to such heat treatment.
2R cold rolled bright annealing, commonly known as BA. The bright reflection is complete. In this state, it can be used as a starting point for electrolytic polishing or other surface layer treatment processes, such as coloring.
The code "1" below refers to the starting point of hot rolling and the cold rolling of "2"
Special surface treatment
The surface layer of 1G or 2G is relatively rough and unidirectional. The level of polished sand particles or surface roughness can be specified according to needs.
1J or 2J brushed or matte polished. Smoother than 1G/2G. Polished sand particles or surface roughness levels that can be specified
1K or 2K satin finish. Similar to 1J/2J, but with a specific Ra value of 0.5 * * * μ m。 Generally, silicon carbide polishing seat belts are achieved. The completion of the aluminum oxide belt is strongly discouraged due to the adverse harm of corrosion resistance. The recommended exterior engineering buildings and coastal environment bright nail polish (1P/2P) are not acceptable.
1P/2P glossy polishing. Non directional reflection. Capable of specifying surface roughness. The surface layer is corrosion-resistant.
The 2L passivation layer is thickened and undergoes a chemical reaction process. Colorful passivation of various colors is possible.
