What is stainless steel?
Stainless steel is a metal alloy composed of iron, chromium, silicon, carbon, nitrogen, and manganese. It is mainly known for its rust resistance and excellent corrosion resistance, which are key considerations for certain applications. To be recognized as' stainless steel ', the alloy must contain at least 10.5% chromium and no more than 1.2% carbon.
Based on its internal composition, we can classify stainless steel into five categories:
austenitic stainless steel
Ferritic stainless steel
Martensite stainless steel
Duplex stainless steel
Precipitation hardened steel
